Default Turbo 402 Clearance problems with motor

Hey guys I just got done with my buildup. It is an Iron block 6.0 Eagle 4340 stroker crank with Eagle rods with L19 rod bolts used factory LS1 pan off my car. Everything looked good in clearance. Just didn't think to check the pan clearance. Well when I turned it over tonight finally made funny sound. #1 rod hit the pan and knocked a hole in it. WTF. what is the problem here? I am planning on taking pan off soon But what do you guys think the problem is? The windage tray is clearanced.

From the sounds of it,you broke a rod and shot it through the pan?Probly something was left in the cylinder or the valves made serious contact with the piston.

NO it's brand new motor. I talked to SLP today and finally found someone that knows what was going on. They said with the factory 7/16 rod bolts in my rods it would need just very minor clearance. With my L 19 rod bolts which are 1/2 I would need to get aftermarket pan or cut and weld a channel in the front for clearance for the rod bolt. Everything else is good as far as I know.

This same problem discussed with another board member a few months back....so this isn't the first time. I think he wound up channeling the pan and everything was fine.
