Default Low oil pressure.

I know this subject has been brought up quite a bit of times. But, all the post I see people never see to agree.

So, here is my issue. I recently just swapped my LS1 intake to an LS6 intake manifold. The car seems to be running fine, but my oil pressure, when it is warmed up, it is idling around 25 - 30 psi. It was never that low before. It used to site maybe around 35 and closer to 40.

What could have possibly be different from before the intake manifold swap to now?

Nothing!!! 20-25 psi @ warm idle is normal. You should see 10 psi of oil pressure for every 1000 rpm.

My biggest concern that the PSI was higher before the LS6 intake manifold install. I'm just not sure why it would change all of a sudden.

Is the idle rpm the same? Did you check to make sure no damage to the sender before you put the new manifold on? Is the coolant temp the same as before?

Well, all the sensors were the same. And, the oil sensor unit was the same also. I made sure to be very careful about not damaging none of the sensors, especially the oil sending unit.

Regardless, I think I'm still going to swap out the oil sending unit just incase. It's better to replace a $30 sensor, than worrying the my engine goes.

Well if only the intake was changed and your oil pressure is lower... unless some sort of witchcraft happened, the oil pressure sensor got bumped enough to throw it off.

Oh yeah, the coolant temp is the same, too.
