Default Another Dumb Novice Question

Will the kits to rebuild a 350 chevy work in a ls1 motor? I am going to go all forged and I was checking out prices. Also, where is the best/cheapest place to get a good forged rotating assembly and where is a good place to buy ls1 cams? Thanks, Robert

No. they will work for SBC and that is about it. Although they share some variations of each other, the parts however are not interchangeable.

ive looked at them but havent really had any luck finding what I am looking for besides the heads. Where can I find a good cam, around a 244 or so? And where can I find a good forged rotating assembly. Orangeapeel, i take it that the smc wont fit then?

Possibly not.

What are you planning on using this car for 85% of the time?

85%, lol. Street, but I want a very mean street. I found a all forged kit for 2000 for a sbc and I was going to use that if it would fit. How do you know if it will fit? Thanks, Robert

Well it won't fit. It is an LS1, not small-block chevy. Allthough the LS1 is a small block the parts are not interchangeable. Only with another LSx style engine.

Check Thunder Racing, TSP, SDPC and Speed.inc for LS1 rotating assembly parts. They should be able to iron out what you need.
