Default Port and Polished 6.0 heads

I recently installed a set of 6.0 lq9 heads on my 2001 TA I also had them port and polished. I have heard that they lower the compression and there is little or no gain. Would I see a gain since I port and polished them?

You dropped your compression a lot. I see no way you could get a gain from them.

They lower the compression and generally aren't worth porting and polishing unless your engine is set up for higher compression. I'd keep the 241's and have them p and p'ed.

5 angle valve job? i sure hope they installed fatte seats, there isnt that much room for anymore than the 3 major angles.....

a simple port and polish will most likely show the most gain in the higher rpm, but consequentally your low end torque could suffer

If I can get the specs to get a stage 3 p & p on my 241's I would sell the Lq9 heads.

I'd look for soemthing more conservative than a stage III head for your car.

What would you go with Ben? Im looking for a hopefully a solid 15-20 hp if thats even possible with the 241's. What would I have to do to get this out of the 241's?

There are no certain specs to a p and p. It all depends on the person/company that is doing it. One person's "stage 2" job could be another's "stage 1.5xr2". It's all just naming conventions for how much porting is done. The best thing to do is call up a sponsor and ask them which stage p and p would best match your setup.

Both, but starting with something that isn't setup for your app and then trying to make it work is never a good manner of finding hp. If I were you, I'd start by spec'ing out the cam I wanted first. Then, I'd figure out which heads flowed well where you needed it the most.
