Question best spark plugs & your gas mileage

I was wondering what is the best kind of spark plugs for my 01 z28 for peformance and how much do they cost? Also I was wondering what your gas mileage do you get on your camaro and please specify what motor and what you have done to your camaro? I just got it less than 2 months ago and I have put a SLP Loudmouth Dual Exhaust on it so far. And I got one heck of a deal on my z28 I got it for $10,500 with 49,000 mi. on it and it is in perfect shape! Thanks for all your inputs!

I like the NGK TR-55's for plugs. As far as wires I use Taylor 10.4 mm.

Your best bet is a plug with the hotter (think stock) heat range and a wider .060" gap (think stock). As long as the plug is clean, there's not going to be much difference between the $1 NGK TR55s or the $8 iridium plugs.

I also have the TR6s because I was going to put nitrous on the car...they are gapped at .035". I consistently get 18.5 around town and the best I ever saw on the highway was about 26. My car has headers, cam, intake, exhaust, and no emissions equipment on it. It gets 18-19 every time I fill it.

Up here in the mountains I get 20 - 24 commuting with about 3/4 of that being highway. On road trips I've seen 30 in the winter with no ac and 28-29 with the ac on in the summer. That 6th gear really helps. I have just been putting in tr55s with a .05 - .055 gap and they work fine.

Does anyone here use Bosch Platinum +4's in their LS1's? I have them in my '97 RS and they do very well. I'm wondering if they would work well in LS1's as well.

Haha! STOCK I got that......2.73's FTW.

Wit the 383 I'll be happy if I get 20. I have no idea yet. Planning a road trip soon so I'll see then. Around town with 4200 stall=pretty bad.

I ran them for a long time (50,000 miles) and they were fine. After switching to TR55's I saw no difference.....except that the 55's were a lot cheaper.Performance was the same.
