Default harmonic balancer on 4" eagle

can you use a stock ls1 fbody harmonic balancer on an eagle 4" crank? strangely enough my last catalog for summit says that you can't use it on non-stock cranks. I might be misreading it. Thoughts and such?

oh yeah - here's another obvious one --- going to do a 402 with the ls2 block and a 4" eagle crank -- is the stock balancer going to work on it? usually you dampen something with a custom setup depending on the characteristics of the item, but this is my first build so are harmonic balancers not that way? i know vizard and i think lingenfelter say bigger is better on them.

If building for highperformance there should be no reason to re-use the stock balancer. A aftermarket balancer will live longer at higher rpms.

402. Probably 6k cap on rpms. Going with a mildly rebuilt 4L60E. I've heard rpms tear them up. Also prefer a decent idle, so probably smaller duration cam (I can hear the boo and hissing now).
