German Castol 0w30 should be good for all year. Its very good in cold starting situations because its thick. You cannot go wrong with thick oil : . Its an oil that seems like it goes hand in hand with Ls1's. Everybody sees superior results with it including myself. It also makes your engine run quieter, and oil pressure run higher. This oil has been proven good, and sent in to a testing lab.. It showed better performance vs Mobil1's 5w30. The 5w30 was too thin, and it even showed that the GC 0w30 has less wear after 8000 miles than the 5w30 had after 3500. GC is the ****. I used to be a Mobil 1 only guy. Now I am not...Pick it up at autozone or...http://www.proformanceusa.com/mall/c...&DESC1=autosyn

^^^ its very expensive on that site, go to autozone first.. (autozone carries it.. i called them, they had no idea wtf german castrol was.. i went in the store, and i found it.. idiots)

If your looking something besides that, you can either go with Mobil1 10w30, 10w40.. Or an other good oil is Royal Purple RACING 41 formula which is also 10w30.

Yeah, I am in the same situation. '02 Z-28 with 47k. After reading this BBS for a few hours I decided to try GC 0W30 and found some at the Autozone down the road for $5.99/qt. Also picked up a KnN oil filter. Going to let the oil in it now run it's course and then change it. Use the search feature on this board, you'll find more info than you can read in 2 straight nights. Some people haven't had positive results with the GC but a lot have.

Talking

GC with the K&N 2006 is what I have been using for a long time. Works great.

The only problem I have is I have read on this forum both that german castrol and mobil 1 have caused piston slap and lifter tic.But have read they were also both good oils . I posted this to settle they confusion.
