Default 13b vs ls1

I was wondering the weight differances between the 13b rew and the ls1....on another site ppl are telling me they weigh about the same....

i think the difference is only about 50 lbs in favor of the 13b

I just dont see how thats possible...1.3 liter vs 5.7 I mean I owned an rx-8 and the 13b is tiny. like the size of a 4 cylinder.

you have to take into effect the twin turbos and all the supporting pieces. i dont know if it is an iron block or not but that would effect it. that engine weight includes turbo plumbing, intercoolers, and all that jazz. i saw those numbes when compact car (i know) compared an rx7 twin turbo with an rx7 that had an ls1 and an ls1 camaro. those were the numbers they quoted, even with their obvious bias

I'm almost positive that it is an iron block.

And rotary engines will always be larger per liter of displacement.

its not really a 1.3 its more of a 2.6 really. becuase its essentaly a 2 stroke motor

LS1 is a SMALL motor. all aluminum heads, block and composite intake, makes up a very small and light motor
