Default Thought I had Piston Slap

My car made that terrible sound for about 2-3 min after cold startup, and about a minute after warm starts. I changed my cam this weekend from the stock 2002 ls1 cam to the 02- zo6 cam. The noise disappeared, not there at all. I know you should use 7.425" pushrods with this cam, but I was sent the wrong ones, so i used the stock 7.400 rods. So why do you think the noise went away? I also put in 918 springs. I'm thinking its that the lifters are now holding more oil to make up for the .025" diff in length. Should I put new lifters in. I don't think it was ever piston slap, maybe just bad lifters?

Did it sound like this at all?

Some people on here are telling me it's piston slap, one of the mechanics I took it to said it sounds like a spun bearing.

Well if it went away it was valvetrain related. But if it was bad lifters, it wouldn't get better all of a suden.

I had noise at first after cam swap, but after first track day it was all gone.

my Vette makes the same noise under cold startup. It disappears after a min or two and doesn't come back until the car is completely cold again. Its piston slap unless the noise doesn't go away. Just for reassurance my car just made 348whp and 356wtq on the dyno making that same noise until warm. Right on par for an LS1 with LT's, Borlas, LS6 mani and blackwing.
