Default 3/8" Pushrod Question with ETP 215 Heads

What's the deal with running 3/8" pushrods on ETP heads? I'm having some weird issues with my setup in the higher RPM range (in another thread here), and I want to swap in some stiffer and slightly longer pushrods. My existing 5/16" pushrods nearly touch the pushrod bores in the head. Will 3/8" pushrods even fit? I'm using stock rockers on the ETP rocker stand.

Have you considered tapered pushrods?

Have you called Cary at ET? Talk with him, he will get you on the right track!

I got the ones that Andy @ A&A recommended. They were expensive.

I have 5/16" hardened/doublewall also and mine almost touch too. I'm not sure if we can go any bigger. No dyno yet either so I don't know if I have the patented dip after 6k.

I noticed that too. The pushrod holes are offset to the centerline of the lifter on every other one so 3/8 pushrods will be real close. But there are at least 3 people I know running 3/8 pushrods with ET heads. I would assume they work. Mine are on order regardless.

If they touch or don't fit I guess I will have my machine shop bore out the hole ever so slightly.

Just the last 1/2" is tapered to 5'16". Point is moot.
