cam install questions
i will be installing a lunati 232/248 .581 .581 lift on a 112LSA.
1.will i be able to drive this cam without a tune?
2.will this cam fit ok with stock pistons?
it doesnt have a huge lift...i figured it would be ok...

Guy's please, please, please realize that lift has very little to do with Piston to valve clearence.
I don't know how often this mistake is made, but please read this post and realize that P/V clearence isn't affected by lift. Duration/LSA are much more important factor's.
Next. Why run a cam that big with that much duration difference?
I am a fan of a split duration cam, but 16 degrees. Why?
To me the cam is the most important part in making power torque and driveability and that cam dosen't make since in to many combo's.
Yes you will need a tune. It will be foolish to put a cam in of that size and not get the car tuned. The cam you have picked out will make power much higher then a stock cam, so plan on shifting higher. Also driveability will be much worse, and your A/F curve will be all over the place. Defentially get her tuned.
I would guess it will clear with stock piston's, but check to be sure.
Never hurts to be 100% careful, no reason to fire the motor up and have a piston kiss a valve and have to pull the heads for no reason.
