What are benefits or new oil pump? Well I have an 02 fbody and am camming it over the winter. Is there any real benefits for me? I have 40k miles and my car has excellent oil pressure. It seems on par with people with ported ls6s and such. If i have good oil pressure, is there any point in going aftermarket or not?

I think the point is more to just do it while you're in there...assuming your existing oil pressure is fine. Same with doing a water pump when you do a cam (since it has to be removed anyway). Just a matter of preference. If you don't have money and have lots of time to replace the pump if it fails down the road...save your money.
Lastly, going from a LS1 to LS6 pump usually increases FLOW (not always pressure)...thus you will be getting more lube to your cam bearings and so on...
