Default #1 spark plug keeps shooting out!!

The other day I was driving around and noticed a loud tick. I figured it was an exhaust leak and kept on driving. A few days later I am driving around and I hear a loud POP! and then a horrible ticking sound. I stop the car and look under the hood and see the #1 plug hanging from the coil pack!
This is the second time this has happend.

I bolted the plug back in but noticed that it wasnt going in very easy. Is the plug hole stripped? I know these are aluminum engines so things get stripped easily. I drove it around and now I am getting the p0300 random misfire code. The car is popping horribly and hesitating and I am scared of damaging the engine by driving it around.

how do I tell for sure if the hole is stripped? If it is stripped how can I fix this?

If its striped about the only thing you can do is remove the head, and helicoil the plug hole. Or buy new heads. Aluminum may have already fallen into the chamber when the plug fell out, or when you pulled it out. Does it ever get tight when you put it back in? You might beable to take a light, and look at the threads in the head, and see if they look unharmed, but im betting on that you stripped the threads.

Hopefully im wrong.

yes the plug was getting really tight when I was putting it on. I didnt push much further though because I didnt want to damage anything.

so either way, I have to pull the heads?

If you got the money, now would be the time - no sense putting all that effort in to not upgrade (well, unless you just don't have the money, which is definitely understandable).

Depends on the heads you want, and the size of the cam (weather or not youll need dual or single springs).

2k???!! I dont have that kind of money right now.

my friend said I should have a shop re-thread the hole and port and polish the stock heads while its in there.

how much gain would I see with the stock heads ported and polished?
