Default Why does my motor rev so slowly "HELP GUYS"

Hi Guys,

I'm posting this question because I can't figure out what might be wrong. My car prior had G5x3 on 114 with all the boltons, Converter and 3.42 gear, made 392 to the wheel and went 12.00's/ 116 on street tires. I installed Dart 225's that were milled to give me 59cc chambers, flycut the pistons .080 and used Cometic .040 gaskets also installed a FAST 90/90 LS2 throttle body, descreened the MAF and had it tuned at NLP in Orlando the car put down 422/385. car went 11.8 /117 with ET Streets. Mike said something was holding the car back on the dyno, and it is because it doesn't pick up speed as fast as it did when it was cam only. What the hell could it be, I checked the pushrods thinking they might be to long and were hanging open the valves slightly and losing compression but all is well there. What do you think it could be?

I wouldn't think that you'd have gained 30hp to the wheels if the valves were hanging open. Personally, two things I would have done differently would be keeping the MAF screen and running the smaller Dart 205's on a 346ci engine.

Probably need more info to find out where it's lacking. What A/F ratio was it running on the dyno? Timing? Log any of the passes at the track for similar information?

A/F was right at 13, timng I don't have, but I'm sure Mike Norris set it up correctly. Do you think Descreening the MAS has something to do with it, maybe more calibration. Car just doesn't feel right ,something doesn't feel right as far as the way the car accelerates through the gears. I went with the 225's on the logic of my cam and stall and the fact that most CNC'd heads are in that cc range anyway.
