For G5X3 + M6 owners, what gear?
I'm looking at running this cam when the funds are available, however, my current budget will probably allow for a 12-bolt or heads, but not both this winter. Wondering what would be the best order to perform the two. In addition to answering the poll, please feel free to share any other pertinent information (LSA, Whose Heads, if not stock, what ratio, F-body/GTO/Y-body, LS1/LS2/LS6)
Thanks!
Thanks!

The g5x3 screams I would do 4:10's with it. Then againg you will be going nowhere fast unless you uprade the rear and add some sticky tires to the combo. If you do heads and cam and skip the rear and stay on street tires you should be ok. If your going heads and cam using the g5x3 fly cutting of the pistons may come into play depending on the ammount of milling on the heads and thickness of your head gaskets. Heads I would go with afr 205's.

That said, I'd be stupid not to check, but it should clear.

4.11's and nothing less. I use this on my daily driver and I love it. The gas mileage isn't too much worse than it was with the factory gears and it pulls so much harder. With the factory gears, I could burn through first and a little through second. Now with the same tires and only changing out the rear-end gear, I could burn first, second, third, and chirp fourth. I'd say they could make your everyday car "fun".

What do you mean? That's how it works.
My vote: G5X3 on a 112, flycut (rent the tool), stock heads, 12-bolt. Then save for heads later. The heads will depend upon your budget. I basically decided on Livernois heads because although I had the money saved to buy ETP, TEA, AFR, etc., the "best" heads, the numbers just don't show that much of a difference for me since I don't win any money racing. And the 215cc runners of the Livernois heads was another big selling point for me since the other companies are running huge runners. Yeah, good flow numbers. So what does that mean when I'm losing torque down low because of some huge runners on the more popular heads?

As far as heads, I'm pretty firm on AFR 205's for the high flow and velocity of the stock size intake runners. If I decide to do the rear first and not heads, and need to flycut to run the cam with my stock heads, I may as well get it ground on a 110 LSA for a little more midrange punch.

Louis at LGMotorsports stated that no piston notches are needed running stock heads / AFR 205cc 59cc with .040 cometic head gaskets .
4.10 - 4.30 - 4.56 depending on tire height
