Default Page'n the really smart guys

Ok I just got a 402 with -14cc dished pistons and I have a MS3 cam. My question is how much would you guys mill the heads and what cam would you run on the new motor? The cc of the heads stock is 62cc. They are going to be the new 217cc Terminator heads. I have 1 7/8 kooks, ported fast intake, 42lb injectors....all the supporting mods basically. What would you take the CR to and how can I get to the best DCR? I will prob use cometic gaskets also. Oh yeah it will be a NA motor, I got the dished pistons because it was a really good deal at the time and I would like to go FI in the future. I will hav a healthy shot of nitrous on it in the mean time though.

Cutting the heads down to 60cc's will put you at 11:1:1 Static compression with .040" Cometics. This will be about a .015" mill. You don't want to cut the heads down to terribally much because P/V will become an issue, your intake may not line up, or it could also hurt resale of the heads. 11:1 should be great for a street car. The DCR side of it will be relivant to your camshaft selection. DCR is dictated by your cams IVC point, so you will need to find a cam with a IVC that is good for DCR and your 90mm intake tract. Mid to late 40's* @ .050" IVC's, that are intake biased, seem to be popular with the 90mm intakes for N/A applications.

So what would you recommend for a nice cam selection over the MS3? I think I want to go bigger than the MS3 with the added cubes, but have no idea what size. Any recomendations?

Depending on what LSA and advance your cam has, it may be right in line with what you need. Do you know what you ordered?

Did it have a cam card or label on the box. Should say 113+0,1,2,3,or 4.

The 244/248 has been a nice cam for the 400" crowd for a while now. I even had it in my 383, however, it puts the IVC a bit out of the sweet spot of his intake and will likley be a poor driver. I think the same goals can be met with a smaller cam that drives better. It's all about finding the efficency point of your combo.

Nope I have no idea what the full specs are. It would be whatever the standard TSP MS3 113 is. I do want some drivability and if we are only talking like 15hp or so with a smaller cam but a huge difference in drivability I wouldn't mind sacrificing those horses.
