Default water pump gasket differences 1998, 2002

I just wanted to find out if waterpump gaskets were different in a 2000 than a 2002. Im going to do a head and cam swap and picked up two waterpump gaskets and just want to make sure they will work. I have heard that i dont need them in my 2002. Is this true?

I'm pretty sure there are no differences in 98-02 that I can remember.

97-98 are non-reusable gaskets, while 99+ are reuseable metal gaskets. My 98 had the non-reusable one's and they were a PITA to remove...

Keep them until you are sure you don't need them. Many times the rubber separates from the metal when you remove the pump. Also, is it worth it to have a coolant leak after you are done over a few dollars worth of gaskets? I reuse many gaskets, but WP gaskets and crank seals always get changed when I do cam installs.

Thanks for the advice, i have both waterpump gaskets, and new front seal. I plan on replacing the front seal, but since i have the waterpump gaskets i might as well put them on. thanks
