Default LS1 GM Hot Cam w/LS6 Springs

Howdy! What are your experiences with this cam? What kind of power gains does it put down? From what I can tell, the specs look extremely mild if any better than stock but just curious. Thanks!

EDIT: most of the search results were from LT1/LT4 hotcams

LSA 112, 218/227 Duration, 525/525 Lift are the specs that google returned and i see that popular hot rod saw a gain in torque/power over the entire rpm range that was slightly better than the LS6 cam but i dont know if its worth 500 dollars for the kit...

It's not a bad cam, but I think there are so many other cams that are alot better. In the same powerband. Also try using the search button and you might find other people who have used this cam with different combo's.

I used to have the exact same setup you are talking about. The car ran great above about 3500 rpms. I can honestly say that it was the worst idling cam I have tried. I eventually gave up tuning it and swapped cams. I will say that the hotcam had more midrange than the cam I currently have. I hope this helps your decision. The cam is not as tame as you think. You will probably not have the same problems I did since you are an M6.

I made 381 rwhp and 373 rwtq with this cam on stock programming. That is on the high end of the range. I like it. I didn't really care about dragstrip performance. I just wanted some more power, and to enjoy the car. I also wanted a low maintenance setup with regard to spring changes and such. It has fit my requirements well.

very small cam, I think you would like a 22x duration cam better. You can reach damn near 400 ponies to the wheels and have stock driveablility. I may be selling my tsp 225 soon to go with a bigger cam. Let me know if you're interested....
