I am thinking about getting a bolt on LS1 based car. I would probably drive it only about 50 miles a week if that, so driveability isn't too big of an issue. By that same token, I want to get a good budget heads/cam setup to be quick! I'd love 10's if at all possible. What would you all recommend? I saw some heads called PRC heads or something, and a TSP cam ... the package was on the parts for sale board for $1250 all together. That is NUTS! I thought heads were like $2100 by themselves! Any help greatly appreciated. By the way it is an auto and I would probably put a 4000 stall in it or something.

my buddy has a heads and cam package he made 417rwhp on and 398 tq and he has a ls6 intake. would u be interested in it?
he sold b/c he bought a bigger cam and the heads wouldn't fit so he bought another set of heads also. they are patriot heads... he would sell everything i think for 1200obo
he paid like 2500 for the heads 2 years ago. he only had 5 k miles on the heads and cam.

Probably patriot or prc ls6 heads and ms3/g5x3/ms4...not sure if all those cams have enough PTV clearance but either of those heads and any of those cams would make great power.

According to a recent test there is only a slight difference in power between all aftermarket LS1 type heads. The cheaper Texas Speed heads sound like a good buy.

TSP PRC ls6 heads are $899 new and $999 with TSP reworking them a little. MS3 or MS4 cam are around $400 or so new.
