We just finished up a head swap last night using the stage 2.5 5.3L PRC heads. We will have dyno numbers later tonight on the setup when we get a chance to tune it. All of PRC's porting and valve job is done completely by CNC so there is no chance for variation or error in the build process. With the PRC heads you get a quality head, quality gains, for a budget price!! The 5.3L head is ported out to a 220cc runner. The stage 2.5 5.3L PRC head sells for 1199.99 plus shipping assembled with the PRC springkit, that price is for the pair!! If you need any more info or have any questions feel free to let me know and I will be glad to help.

Zach, I sent you an email a few days ago but haven't gotten an answer yet, so I thought this would be a good place to ask.

Can those PRC 5.3 220cc Stage 2.5 heads be ordered with lightweight valves and single 918 springs?

i think you should run the PRC stg1 LS6 heads for less than a G.. why are you not considering those instead of these other 2?

You can do that on any head. Just send them a set of hollow valves and they can do the rest.
What I would like to see is a 2.10 set of hollows working on a stage 3

PRC hands down! There is no comparison between the two.PRC constantly makes consistant great power.I can't say the same for Patriot.PRC uses the best equipment, and they know how to produce a quality product.IMO,Patriot only has a good price, not good proven, consistant quality.

I ordered a set also yesterday PRC 5.3 stage 2.5 along with a MS3,the heads come with stainless valves and you can get 2 different sizes,202 or 204 depending on what cam your gonna run. They have more compression than the cheaper LS6 heads, and a smaller port for higher velocity,(more bottom end on a smaller cube inch motor)No fly cutting to do on this set up also.IMOP pretty good set up for the $$ amount.

On the 5.3L heads, do they have the lower valve clearance that all 5.3L heads have, compared to LS6 heads?

unless the valves are sunk, yes
I run a set of 2.04/1.57 unsunk (one of the first PRCs) milled .025 (59cc) with a TV2 113, 2.2cc PVR

So you already had the combustion chambers CC'd?
I ask because usually when porting 5.3 heads, a good company will do valve deshrouding that takes some meat out of the chamber. Add to that TSP is good about sinking the valves on most of their heads to give more clearance for ya, but that'll take a little out of the chamber too. That said, it's a great trade-off with 5.3L heads to have the valves start a little higher.

what prc heads would go better on a stock bottom end, with a 227/231 on lsk lobes with a 6500 shift point. i was looking in to the 5.3L 2.5's
