Am I wasting my money?
I want to upgrade my cam - currently stock - but can't afford to do the heads just yet. Am I wasting my money if I don't do both at the same time?
I don't plan to track the car much but want a little more low end response for the street. The car is a daily driver.

Go for it. There are plenty of cams that match up well with stock heads. Maybe look at getting something bigger now (that would work with stock heads) but also take advantage of ported heads. Make sure...as stated that you have a converter that could keep up.
I have a 230/236 .592 .602 112 lsa cam.....something along those lines would still be good with stock heads but would also be able to take advantage of aftermarket heads when you get them.
Hope all the info that you have gotten in this thread helps!
