All right, let’s talk about that horrible off-road pipe rasp (actually, I’d rather forget about it!). Which Dynomax race bullet is everyone using, the 12” or the 18” in the I-pipe?
I want to ditch my gutted cats and go back to my Mufflex race pipes, but I don't want that rasp

I definately know what you mean about the rasp. I ran around town for 6 months without cats and the Loudmouth. Talk about rasp?!! I was seriously embarassed to drive my car...
Get the 12 in bullets w/ a 3 in ID on both sides. That will work perfect. A buddy of mine ran 2 of those in his Mac ORP and the Loudmouth, probably one of the best sounding LS1's I have ever heard. It had a deep rumble with almost ZERO rasp. You'll definately like the bullets, good luck

Thanks for the reply
Do you think that one 12” in the I-pipe will work/be enough? The Mufflex pipes work with the stock Y-pipe, so I can’t really weld a bullet on the drivers side!
My friend Al has SLP longtubes and loudmouth without cats; yeah, it’s pretty bad too...

Well, if you're going to run a Mufflex, then one bullet muffler should do the trick. It's not going to get all the rasp out, but enough to where you won't hear it unless you're looking for it. That setup should real nice, considering Mufflex is one of the best sounding exhaust systems for these cars.
