Whos got the Holley filter???
First of all i'd like to say whassup! This is QUASAR BLU from camaroz28.com. I just sold the 95 Z and I am getting ready to buy an 02 Formula that i have been waiting to get for ahwile now. The new car will be bright red, so that is how i came up with this name.
This site looks really awsome so i wanna give the guys responsible props!
Now about the filter, whos got a Holley in they're LS1? You know, the blue one. I have heard that they have a better fit than the K&N and possibly flow better too becasue of the larger pleats. Does anyone have any info on this??
any info appreciated!

I got one, I think it fits tight and flows good, but so does the K&N. I just thought it looked cool

Yes, I switched to the Holley from the K&N. The K&N gaskets kept going bad on me, and since the Holley doesn’t need a gasket, well the rest is history!

I got the Holley thru Thunder Racing and I love it. I fits really well and looks like it is made better that the K & N.

Hi this is Quasar from LS1.com, I'd just like to say howdy. BTW I think the Holley looks better as for performance I bet there is no difference.

Bingo, I did a back to back with a K&N when the holleys first were available; A whopping difference of 0.06 - the K&N was quicker. haven't really taken the time to do any other filters, but plan to when the track opens back up next spring.
I've got some Holleys in stock - am I allowed to say that here?

I have a Holley P/S as well. I was running the K&N previously, and altough I cannot honestly say that the Holley flows better it does certainly fit better, and looks a hell of alot nicer. I would assume That I am getting a tad more air but unless you are making some mad equines under the hood the filter really doesnt come into play to much.

thanks for the replys guys
I figured they would perform the same, but since the holley has a better fit, ill go with that. Why not? And i wont have a clear lid, i have already purchased an MTI carbon fiber lid for it.

I have the MTI lid on my SS and the K&N filter fits great without a gasket. But, on my Z28 with the Whisper lid it requires a gasket. Could just be my particular lids, dunno?

Holley/MTI clear lid/FTRA for me. Fits tight, no additional stripping for seal.
seems reasonable at this point anyway. "Purchase" forum isn't much yet! Say, I saw you were also an amsoil guy, can you post prices?
Thanks,
