What's a guy gotta do to get a sponsor to take his business?
The past couple weeks I've been travelling for work and haven't had time to call to chat with someone about buying heads/cam for my car. So I sent a quick e-mail off to every sponsor whom I respect their opinion about the subject. Five e-mails sent and zero replies. Sometimes it amazes me how much companies don't want your money.
Won't name names, since I don't want to start any real trouble, just venting a little frustration about that!
My real question is, who would you recommend chatting with about a heads/cam combo for my car? Maybe they'll pick up the phone

Call Tony Mamo from AFR. He's always says to give him a call if you're thinking about using his product. His posts are always informative and unbiased. I'm sure he'd set you up with something you'd be happy with.

I know exactly what you mean I have had alot of trouble getting replies to emails. At first I thought it was kinda nice to do so so the shops could answer the emails when they have time not have a guy stop in the middle of a cam swap to come answer a tech question. However I have had the best luck getting Texas Speed to answer my emails and subsequently have bought most of my parts from them. I think companies need to get a little more serious about answer e-mails. However, I will admit when it comes to buying something as important as heads or a cam or pistons etc. it is nice to talk to somebody over the phone before making the final purchase.

You have to see it in a bussiness owners perspective. My shop is small and I get a ton of e-mails with questions. This takes alot of time out of my schedule and probly 99% of these people are just wasting my time and never buy anything from us. So,in a day I could spend 4-5 hour's answering e-mails and phone calls. Would you like to not get paid for that time?
Now,the customers that we do work for or are local get the attention they need because we know it isn't a BS talk.
Now,this might be drastic on my part and I try to help people out across the country by talking to them while I'm driving to/from the shop but it get's old when you make no $$ to support your family because someone picks your brain to go buy parts somewhere else

Yeah, its fustrating not to get a return e-mail and I have taken business elsewhere sereral times because of it. An answer may not be expected within a few hours, but a day or two would even work for me. I had one company answer 4 months later!
If they do not want to read/answer e-mails, they should not post an e-mail address.

Give Texas Speed or Thunder Racing a call.....they will take care of you.
I can certainly see both sides of the situation. Heck...most of my day is spent answering emails from people that are 30 feet away in another space.
