Precision Race Components ALL NEW Valve Spring!!
PRC is proud to announce that we will be shipping our all new valve spring kits sometime next week! These new valve springs will install at 1.800" & offer 155# on the seat & 410# open. These valve springs will coil bind at .700 lift so the max lift we will rate them for is about .650" lift. (ms4 size for example) You guys wanting to run LSK lobes should really like this valve spring!
The new retainers & new springs should be ready for shipping late next week. Target pricing for this spring kit should be around $279.99. If you have any questions please feel free to shoot me a pm!
I'll try to post pics very shortly!!

Thanks for all the interest guys! This valve spring is a result of changes we requested to the spring manufacturer! As always we still offer upgrade options for people wanting different seat thicknesses & different retainers thicknesses!

jason, I just ordered and recieved a custom cam with the LSK intake lobe about 2-3 weeks ago from you guys. I bought the whole cam/spring/pushrod package. I got the old duals since you guys told me this is the spring to use and its good to like .670 lift. should I be sending these springs back to you in exchange for the new ones? my cam has .655 lift I think was the #. they are still in the box as I havent had time to start the install yet.

No guys the old retainers will not work on the new valve spring. It was designed with small changes that require a retainer change to make the fit properly. I was the original person that talked with the spring manufacturer on building this spring. It's not surprising that after we posted the valve spring is available that other companies began to do the same. Ultimately the spring manufacturer will be selling it to all the major spring kit players. The most important thing is the LSX community benifits from these advances.
What people don't understand is we're not here just to sell parts. While other companies build a product for profit & don't even own LS based engines, we continually work on our own cars in a effort to make the entire LSX community stronger.
I don't build a product to be the cheapest. I also don't ***** out pricing because that's my only means of selling products. I build the PRC line of cylinder heads because I have a drive to build MORE HORSEPOWER! If I was out to make big money I sure wouldn't be building heads! I enjoy working on cylinder heads & camshafts because it usually results in advances in performance & streetability!
To answer your question mr blue02ws6, I have no intention of lowering our spring kit prices. While other competitors must drop their pricing to sell products, I will continue to work hard to build a product that out powers the competition.. If you don't believe me just look in the dyno section. I think you'll find PRC products make big power everytime they're put to the test. How many posts have you heard about the PRC LS6 heads not flowing more than they were advertised? I could bet the answer is NEVER!!
I'm already working on a new spring setup for upcoming products. A few months down the line I'm sure someone else will take credit for them, but ultimately I'll make sure my products do the talking on the track & on the dyno!

Couple of questions Jason. Right now I am running 224/236 .606/.628 cam in my LT1 with 26918 springs:
1. I spoke with Zach about a week ago and he said the old PRCs would drop in without any machining if I was already using the 918s. Does this still hold true for the new PRCs?
2. Also I was told that Comp OEM lifters would be able to handle the spring pressures of the old PRC. Will they handle the pressures of the new ones as well??
3. Have any of you guys tested them out, do you think they will perform as well as the old ones on a boosted car. Zach told me you use the old PRCs on a TT vette
Thanks

Chris you can send them back if you'd like!
Sorry to be defensive on this, but I spent some time developing on this spring for others to claim it. It just seems a little jacked up to me.
The gold & platinum springs held the cams fine, I just felt like a little more pressures would help.

thanks trevor. I still havent called yet to send them back, been waiting till I can test my eng. for PTV clearance, and will have some questions when I call you guys again, so figured Id wait till I knew how much Im goin to mill the heads. will have pushrod questions too. thanks.
oh yeah, and will the new springs need to be shimmed to within .050 coil bind? if so what spring height would that be? I'll need to know either way since my valves were sunk into the heads during the valve job.
