Question GM High Tech article: MS4 and PRC heads= 129HP

Did ya'll read the article? This is a really good set up for those numbers don't ya'll think? I heard that the MS4 will not work unless some type of modification to the pistons or something like that ? is this true? What is needed for this cam to work on an ls1 block?

I am going to go with this same or similar set up from Texas Speed and I would like to know from people with the proper knowledge and experience if this is even possible. Do ya'll think this a good heads and cam set up? Other than gaskets, pushrods, timing chain, oil pump and tune, what else will I need? Think I'd be able to get in the 11's?!

Thanks

Jerry

This is a great setup, the modification that needs to be made is that they will need to cut valve reliefs in the pistons. Not a big deal, just give them a call and they'll get you set up. They're customer service is great and they're very professional.

Yeah, the pistons will have to come out to perform any milling or machining on them.

You don't have to take the pistons out to flycut them. I may be wrong but I think the block needs to be out so you can fit the drill rig on top of cylinders 7 and 8.

jeery you should be in the 11's already, you need me to drive? you should do the TFS 215's(im going that route along with a custom grind PREDATOR helped me out with), but the TSP heads are great heads for the money, lmk what you do buddy

i think TEA has them or you can get them from Trick Flow directly. i was referring to their newly revised heads that flow over 300cfm for under a grand, not bad in my opinion, those TFS 215's will run you a pretty penny though, about 2500 fully assembled,

and the cutting of the pistons is to increase PTV clearance, its flycutting
