Default What are the cubic inches of a 6.0 L motor

I am getting back to my new motor build up again and I had this question to ask.

I am going to bore the block 30 over and wondered what the final cubes would be..

Thanks

6 liters converts to 366.12 cubic inches assuming the engine is exactly 6 liters.

6.0L + .030 = 370
6.0L + .060 = 375

Larry, the GM 6.0 liter engine (4.0"Bx3.62"S) comes out to 364 cid stock. With .030" overbore it is 369-370 cid.

Bored .030 over this stock stroke setup would be considered a 370.

4 x 4 x 3.622 x .7854 x 8 = 364.124006

That's for the stock 6.0. The formula is Bore x Bore x Stroke x .7854 (Factor for PI Diameter) and that gives you the volume for 1 cylinder. Then multiply by 8 since that is the number of cylinders for the total displacement. Remember there is some rounding off for nomenclature since the numbers don't always come out even. But when converted from standard to metric it works out to about 6 liters.

Holy Christ people. You dug up an 11 year old thread to argue about engine size?

Yeah we did. You wanna make something of it Pal?

I didn't notice to be honest I just thought I would share the formula for figuring displacement.
