Default 6.0 Iron block's and timing chains, and oil pump Qs??

Does an iron block 6.0 take the same timing chain as say a LS1/6/2? Or do i need something special? Are all gen 3/4 timing chains interchangable? Im building a blown iron block and need to pick out a good reliable timing chain. It will not be some crazy cam, most likely something very close to an LS6 cam's specs, maybe a lil bigger. Im looking for as much reliability as i can get without getting stupid. I heard people were using LS2 chains for soe of the bigger cams and they were holding up fine? Any truth to that?

I was considering the SLP LS1/6 timing chain and oil pump combo.

Which brings me to Q #2, is the iron blocks oil pump the same also? Ive tried to search but cant come up with the right group of words to search with apparently though??? Appreciate any help!

Well i ended up calling speed inc, i guess its all the same.

The guy on the phone told me there would be no issues with clearance if i ran a double roller chain and i wouldnt need to shim the oil pump? Anyone know how that would be done? My understanding was you wouldneed to shim the oil pump and then you may have clearance issues with the timing chain cover?

The more i think about it the more i think i shoud get a double roller just to be safe with the kinda power ill be making with a blown setup. But im kinda like tim the toolman, i ovrkill everything. Am a really pissing in the wind with a double roller vs a LS2 setup? Its not gonna be a big crazy cam, but spring pressures will be higher then whats normally used on a small/mid size cam due to the forced induction.

Single roller should be plenty for your application. Go with a beefy chain though, like the LS2.

double rollers are expensive headaches

brand new LS2 timing chain with a ported TSP LS6 oil pump.. you will have around $200 in a bulletproof proven setup
