will this micrometer work on LS1 heads? my buddy has a new one that he will sell to me for 20 bucks. Is this the right one for an LS? http://www.proformparts.com/mistore/...pany_id=100719

Yes it should, spring installed heights usually fall in the 1.700" - 1.800" range on these motors. If you are using beehives, just make sure the retainer sits on top, otherwise you need to compensate. I ended up making some washers to fit in the upper cup so that the measurements could still be taken with a small retainer.
