Exclamation Lifters going bad? Maybe new cam!

Hey i have been hearing a noise come from the engine everybody has been telling me its the lifters going bad? Its like a ticking noise! I was thinking if i have to replace them i might as well get a cam and new lifters so what are ur thoughts ona cam only ls1? how much power do they put down cuz i really dont have a lot of money right now to do anything else!

Check my sig for mods, times, and a link to my dyno sheet. Not many people have this cam, but it's certainly exceeded my expectations.

IF you need lifters, a cam is irrelevent. Get heads if you're going to replace your lifters as they will be coming off anyway.

I just swapped out my heads and did my lifters along with it for piece of mind..... There are a lot of cam only cars out there making great power. But if you wanna do lifters then you must take your heads off, so, that is a good time for a head upgrade as well....

is there anything to get rid of the noise coming from the engine i was talking to some guys at autozone and they said there is this stuff called like seafoam forgive me if i butchered what its called but they said it will clean off all the stuff making the lifters stick possibly?

most likely your lifters are fine. unless there is some serious obvious noise leave it alone. noisy lifters are not a good reason to go in and tear appart your motor.
