Default Oil Pump

What does it take to replace an oil pump? I have a 98 motor and want to put in a ported oil pump. How difficult is it to complete? Thanks for your help.

its a fair amount of work for just an oil pump, most guys swap it out when they are doing cam swaps. Go read any cam write up, it will tell you how to swap the pump

Not difficult at all.

LS1howto.com has a write-up on doing a swap. #7 in the "Fbody How to" section.
