Default Seating Rocker Arms

How do you do this we are trying to install new LS2 rockers and they dont want to seat themselves, the LS1 rockers seemed to align up just with the bolt in them but the LS2 ones have some lateral sideways movement and we are aligning them up by hand, is this right? Thanks

Can you provide more explanation or a photo? Not sure I understand where you are running into a problem. These aren't LS7 rockers, are they?

No they are LS2. The rocker moves around on the base that sits in the pedestal, on turning the engine it appears they have straightened out, but the engine makes a popping sound and is hard to rotate with the rockers on. The pushrods are stock length

It will be harder to turn over once you start compressing the valve springs. Why did you go to LS2 rockers, do you know they fit?
