Default patriot 226 cam

Anyone using this cam? If so what kind of #'s? Mods? A4 or M6? Is it worth buying, installing, and tuning for this cam or should I spring for a different cam?

Thanks,

Stephen

I just installed it and the mods are in the sig...I have a hard time getting it to idle but its not tuned yet so i also dont have any numbers. How ever sounds pretty damn mean thru the cut-out.

I installed mine about two weeks ago and absolutely love it. It pulls damn hard and never stops, this is through an Automatic with the stock converter. I should have it tuned either before Christmas or right after. My guess is around 370 or so at the wheels with all bolt on's. It has great street manners but counts em off while idling, it just sounds plain wicked. My around town gas mileage is hurting, about 220 miles to the tank but the highway mileage has stayed around 24 mpg so hopefully a good tune will get my mileage back where it should be. You won't be disappointed, especially for the price.

Just wait till the cam breaks in good, mine is camming harder and harder the more I drive it. So far I've put almost a 1,000 miles on the cam, the looks from people that pull up next to you at a light are priceless. I had a guy in a yellow 05 GT mustang pull up next to me, I had the window cracked and noticed him looking at my car then he says " Damn " and I knew right then the cam install was worth every penny.

Thanks for all the replies. I would like to know HP #'s and track times if anyone has them.

Thanks again,

Stephen

that was my previous cam and i hated it with my stock ls1 heads. it seemed to be an on off type cam IMHO. It did make some power though. I picked up 42rwhp with that cam alone in my C5 going from 353 to 395rwhp with that cam.
