120K Miles...Valvespings still OK?
I am coming up on the 120K mile mark and have been wondering how long the stock valvesprings for a 1998 should last.
The car does not see any racing at all, just daily driving and spirited sprints.
Would a valve spring change be part of preventative maintenance, or am I still ok to take my motor to ~6000RPM?
The car has been mechanically over-revved at least once by me(3-2 shift;2 years ago), but I have never heard ticking.
Would it also be beneficial to go to some hardened stock length pushrods while I have the rockers off?
Thanks for the help!
PS I know the only REAL way to tell is to take off the springs and measure them, but I don't have any of the tools to measure springs.

If you are stock I wouldn't really worry about it. If you do want to change the springs I would just get some more of the stock LS1 springs. While you are doing it you could also change the seals. There is no need to go with a stiffer spring if your cam is stock. And as far as pushrods they would be just fine.
