Default boring an ls1

does anyone know how far you can safely bore over an ls1 before you run into problems with the cylinder walls getting too thin and all that fun stuff

We don't bore them, your only taking .005 out so we just hone it out. .005 is not worth setting it up to bore.

Early blocks <2001 only allow a clean up hone of .004" and later blocks allow a bore of .010" as per GM.

Yup the 98 to mid 99 blocks only allow 3.904 I believe. I know for a fact the 2000 up are safe to 3.910. Some claim they have gone further with no ill effects but I wouldn't recommend it.

I did on my 97 Vette block as did a few others on here. If you do this, I would recommend against any power adders.
