Do you want to sell the power steering pump, bracket and hoses. PM with details if you do.

just get a shorter belt, nothing goes there. I like how it looks its all open. Is the bracket holding the altanator on custom, i dont have one and have to use washers, kinda ghetto

i can't use a shorter belt because the belt would then come in contact with the idler pulley thats just below it :-(

and i git rid if the "idler" pulley the belt would hit the crankpulley and the waterpump will have a much too short contact area with the belt, and will slip..

it would be less of a problem if a reverse rotation waterpump would be available, but that would propably cost too much

If it were me, I'd try to fab up another idler on the bracket holding the alternator. Interesting problem, though. I'll be interested in seeing what you do 'cause I was considering the possibility of a manual steering rack at some point.

Take the idler pulley and the bottom bolt off the alternator bracket. This is the only way you can do it. There is still 3 bolts holding the alternator in and it will still be plenty secure. I ran mine like this for a few months and had no problem with the water pump slipping or the car overheating. Measure it with a string, but i'm pretty sure you need a 51cm belt.
