Default bigger valves on stock short block

this is going to be my first ls1 build. i have a set of 243 casting heads
with 2.02 intake valves and 1.6 exhaust valves. I have a stock short block.
I was told that the valves might not fit into the valve reliefs on the pistons,
I know someone has done this just wondering if i am going to have problems.
thanks
Nate

the stock pistons don't have any valve reliefs.you will have slightly less ptv with the slightly larger valves but it won't be much.what is your combo, like cam size and have the heads been milled any ? are you going to use a gm mls gasket or a thinner cometic ?

Going to be running an Ed Curtis custom grind cam, heads have been milled slightly just for a true surface maybe .005-.010. don't know what head gaskets, witch would be the best?

I'm no expert, but I believe the cometics .040 are the way to go. For a tight quench.
