MS4 is more of a max effort cam than a DD. Don't expect a 239/242 cam to be daily driver friendly with only 346 ci. I think you'll find some of the popular 228/232 grinds are about where you want to be with a driver. The quality of your tune will make a big difference to.

i heard the 228R TSP cam is a nice lil DD cam...more or a "radical" DD cam actually...not a sleeper like a 224, which is a POPULAR DD cam...
OR just get the MS4 and learn to drive again haha

Oh, yeah thats what I left out. Plenty of people will tell you a TRex or Texas Monster are DD cams too. Thats a subjective thing. Your best bet is to find out if someone local has a similar cam to what your looking at and go for a ride along.

There is an entire world of cams out there, and they perform very well. There's no need to limit yourself to a cam just because it's discussed on here all the time. The MS4 is a good cam from what people report. But look around. Don't blow your money just because people talk about something that they mostly know about from advertising.

Heck, if you're set on TSP, they can even help you order a custom grind cam, and that might be the best idea.

You could look into something along the lines of the TSP Torquer v.2, 232/234 595/598, pretty driveable cam and if you want the car to have a nice lope get it on a 112. Lots of automatic guys DD that cam, just my .02 cents.

for a dd a smaller cam will be much funner under normal driving. with that 3600 stall you are set up for a medium sized cam like a 228/232 or so anyways since the bigger sticks need a 4000 + to be in their range. also with something like an ms4 you will have to rev it to the moon to make any more power than a smaller stick.lots of people put ms4 or similar cams in dd cars but honestly, how often do you plan to take it over 6500 because that is what you will have to do make much more power than a smaller cam.just my .02

Camp cams has a great piece of software to figure out what you want ($24.95) you can play with all kind of configurations. Also there is a lot of vendors on this site that know what they are talking about, give them a call before you do anything.

If you're stuck between a 224/228 and an MS4 you could take a look at a TSP 233/239 cam. Give them a call and see what they will recommend as far as LSA and advance goes.

I would suggest something close to the torquer V2 or V3 for a daily driver. thats what I was goin to go with for my current build, but decided since dad hardly drives it much, no point not to go wilder.
I put a 233/239 in my 95Z and drove it around for a while stock short block (LT1 obviously) with a 2800 stall and 3:73 gears and it was great. no idea on the gas mileage though. but its def. a case of diff. strokes for diff. folkes.

hey thanks for all the responses.. ill prolly give tsp a call and talk to somebody from there... i only know two ppl in town with cammed f-bodies so i can really only compare the 2... i wanna order one by the 1st of the year, and a tune wont be to big of a deal for me to get, ive already dished out the money for the initial tune so the retune will be much cheaper...

i also want to get some heads (i was looking a trickflow but cant spend that much money and run a fast 90/90 setup, but those will have to wait) im just building my mods up one at a time, and so far im happy with my progress
