Default Will a 6.0 Iron Block Truck Oil Pan Work on an F-Body?

I am doing a stroker project and my rebuild core was a complete 6.0 iron block (pulled out of an HD truck for piston slap). I would like to keep my old LS1 a complete long block complete with the oil pan.

I was wondering if this truck oil pan will work? I also have a BMR K-Member as part of the swap. Trying to save a few bucks by not buying an f-body pan. Thank you for the info.

I am not sure of the 6.0 Truck Oil Pan but my 5.3 Truck Oil Pan from a 99 Silverado was deeper/ hung low. I would assume that the 6.0 would be the same. Mostly because the trucks have plenty of ground clearance.

All of the truck oil pans are the same, and no they will not work in an F-Body. The pan is too deep and would interferre with the K-Member. You will need to swap the truck's Oil Pick Up Tube, Crankcase Baffle/Windage Tray and Pan for an F-Body version, so it fits in an F-Body.

Even with a BMR k-member? are you seeing it is too deep right in the very front of the pan?

Yes it will work but I wouldn't recommend it. The front of the oil pan rests on the k-member which transfers a bunch of vibrations through the car. The rear of the oil pan hangs down so low that minor dips in the road and speed bumps become a huge problem. Out of necessity I daily drove my car for about 5k miles with a truck oil pan on it before I finally cracked the pan so much that it was leaking over a quart of oil a day. This was on a stock height car to.

Thanks for the first hand info. I'll definitely be getting a new pan.
