Default wear on valvetrain - new to cam

I just sold my 1998 Z28 for a 2000 SS:

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2144565/1

With the current cam on the car (TSP 231/237 .598"/.595") and supporting valvetrain (Crane dual valve springs/titanium retainers/TSP pushrods), what sort of wear should I be keeping an eye on? This will be my first cammed car and it will be used as my daily driver so I'm wanting to keep it in top shape.

Thanks for any insight.

In terms of noises, be aware of excessive ticking sounds. You're gonna have some with those dual springs and that cam, but you should know when a tick changes and grows louder. The springs are going to wear the fastest in the valvetrain. The lifters are probably second on that list. Basically, as long as you don't feel or hear any changes, you should be good to go with usual maintenance. However, don't expect those springs to last nearly as long as stockers.

Yeah I'm aware of the loud valvetrain noise associated with LSx engines. I was advised to probably change the springs out in another 20k miles or so. Sound about right? The car was meticulously taken care of so I'm sure all will be well.

...also how is this cam considered compared to most of the other aftermarket cams?

It's a pretty middle of the road cam. Plenty of cams bigger and plenty of cams smaller.

Nothing. What you have should last you a long time.
