Default where to get cylinder head coolant plug?

Iam looking for the passenger's side cylinder head coolant plug that goes on the side and back of the head. On the same whole that the coolant sensor plugs into on the front side of the drivers side. You know? Anyway, my dealer said that they only come with the cylinder head purchase.

That's probably a NPT thread. If it is you can just go to your local plumbing supply.

Reviving this thread from the grave, the current GM PN for the threaded cylinder head plug, M12x1.5 is 11610259. I had a heck of time finding it so wanted to put it up here in case it helps someone else.

The parts guy had to call corporate to get and confirm that part number. The head parts/assembly schematic is awful without the needed detail on small parts.

As mentioned above, the number #229 in this illustration, was part number GM#12553191, which has been replaced by GM#11610259. It can be had at the dealership for around $6.00 and is a normally stock item at every GM Dealership.

Some dealerships used to have, or may still have, a "Block Plug Kit" as well as a "Complete Engine Plug/Accessory Kit", there is a kit #Kxxx, which I can not find at the moment. The Block Plug kit comes with press-in oil galley plug, large brass threaded plug, 3x smaller threaded plugs, and the oil "Barbell". The Complete Engine Plug/Accessory kit includes the previously mentioned plus, the threaded head plug (#229 in illustration), 4x press-in coolant head plugs (#216 in illustration), 4x head alignment dowels, 2x transmission alignment dowels, crankshaft timing chain sprocket woodruff key, 2x rivots for oil pan gasket, and I think the 2x rivets to plug to rear coolant crossover passages. I think that was it, kinda a handy kit. I cant seem to find the part numbers anywhere, I remember buying the complete kit once and was around $80.

If you're in a bind and can't get one quick, run down to the parts store and grab a temp sensor and stick it in there.
