Default valve size

i have a set of 99 ported and polished heads that i am getting ready to put on. i was wondering on a stock short block with pacesetter headers, LS6 intake, ported tb, 226 226 578 578 cam-dont know the LSA-this is one of Fast tech smaller cams, 3600 TCI stall and a 9 inch out back with 3:70 gears. will using a 2.02 intake and 1.57 exhuast valve help that much. i have the money to put the stock valves in with a valve job and mill the head just not shure if it is worth the extra $ for the bigger valves on the stock short block. might put a 100 shot on if the motor last that long. just wondering how much difference i would see with the slightly larger valves versus stock with a good valve job. just really dont wont to spend the extra money at the moment.

Probably not worth it in my opinion. Keep the stock valves, they're great for what you pay for them. I have 2.02 and 1.57 valves, 40thousands cometic gasket and 243 heads milled around 15 thousands and I'm right within spec of PTV clearance with a 224/224 114 cam. Aftermarket valves eat up a lot of PTV clearance not only b/c of the bigger diameter but mostly because of the thickness (valve margin).

5rwhp +/- See the stock seats are 2.02 int, so putting 2.02 valves on it doesn't really create too much more flow.
