Default broken inner valve spring

Is there any way to tell other than taking the springs off? Also are they likely to break?

Didn't you just install these? You might be able to see them with a mirror, but best to pull them off if you suspect a problem.

Also, note which spring it is and if it is the same as the 918's that you had problems with. Wondering if you have an oiling issue that is causing these failures. Try to look down into the lifter and see if you can find any dirt or other particulate that would prevent oil coming up the pushrod. It definitely sounds like you have some fundamental issue if you broke a Patriot dual. Since dual springs generate a lot of heat, oiling could be suspect.

I had an inner spring break on my PRC's. Could only see it with a mirror.

I may have to just pull some springs off and check it out. When you had an inner spring break did it make noise?

No noise. Just chucks of spring caught on the oil plug magnet.
