Default budget block build question

looking at building shortblock with a 00 ls1 block on a small budget. stock crank, aftermarket rods and pistons.. something to handle h/c and 200 shot. the question is, can i bore the cylinders to the 4.00 like the 6.0l and still use the stock crank. what is the most i can bore without changing to an aftermarket crank. i want to be able to use the new l92 heads and intake setup. i was told that i could not use those on my ls1 because the valves were to big for my standard bore. what is the best rods and pistons to go with that are the best bang for the buck.

I tried to search but it isn't running right.

you can't bore an LS1/LS6 block to 4.00.the most you can go is a .010 over on 99 and up blocks, and .005 over on 97-98 blocks....

Not much without re-sleeving. Like he said, .010 on 99+ and .005 on 98- blocks. You would be better off getting a used LQ9 and then doing the L76/L92 intake/heads combo, IMO.

with a stock crank, you're going to get stock cubes on an LS1/LS6 block.
