Default how do you change the valve seals?

i have a set of prc duals that came with new seats/seals. how do i go about changing them? another one of my vavlesprings broke last night. replacing the springs with duals is the easier route than to go back to the stock cam/springs.

also, would i have to put the stock seats back in if i ever decide to go back to the stock internals?

You have to follow spring change procedures, but adding to that is removal of seals and then pushing the new ones on. For this use a tall socket a little bigger than the valves as a pusher.

Yes on your second question.

1/2" deep well works great.

Once you get the old springs off, just grab the seal with a pair of pliers and rock/pull it off. Then lift the seat with your fingernails or a blade--a magnet helps once you get it lifted.

use a pen magnet to get the seats off, they should come right up, at least mine did. the pen magnets are a couple bucks at any parts store, they really help reaching them sockets that always get stuck in the engine bay too.

Yep, a deep socket does the trick rather well.

Can I ask what cam springs you are using... just wondering why the first and second springs broke. Bad quality springs or not the right combo? Noob here, trying to understand cam and spring selection. Thanks.

It should be noted for posterity's sake that if you were changing the stock valve seals on a later model (01-02, I believe) LS1 the valve seals and seats are one piece, so when you pull the seals the seats will come along with them.
