Default Cam choice for my application

I look at max effort cam numbers and then I get pulled back down to earth.
I am installing Kooks, cat delete, Patriot 243 cnc'd heads (2.0"X1.57") with the gold spring kit. I am not looking for max effort numbers, just a healthy increase and the use of 6th gear for lots of vacation driving this spring. Also, I will be getting a "tune" from Futral after the install. I know I will be running into 91 octane in Cal but I figure I can rely on the brain to pull timing until clear of that stuff. I generally cruise around 75 to 80 but maby less when on the back roads. I have even thought about leaving the cam alone till I get back but really don't want to go into the motor twice.
Your input appreciated.
Don

Install the heads when you install the cam. It will be 2 times less work that way. What is wrong with a Torquer V.X cam? I think that or a custom grind would be what you are looking for.

hmmm its really hard to deside but...

my advice is go for thunder racing cams or lgmotorsport.

specialy that you have a set of big heads so your cam choise well be around

228-232 intake and from 228-233 exhaust or more and your lobe 114-112 for streetable and daily driven application.

ive ben told that lgmotorsport (g5x-3) is very good for such mods and it will give you big numbers plus daily driven car.

wich you good luck in your mods

Torquer v.2 is what is going in my ride this weekend, all around great cam IMO and you don't have to go to high rpms to get the full potential.

I love my cam, it has great street manners, makes good low-mid, and still screams up top. Not to mention it sounds great as well. More info and a sound clip in sig below....

Thanks so far guys, all the cams are larger than I thought they could be and still have streetable manners. I guess I still think in terms of the old stuff we used to build. I may have my pie and be able to eat it too!
