Default Confused on Head Gaskets

I've been reading the several threads here on head gaskets and am now totally confused. The replacement ones I got from Thunder Racing are one piece graphite coated units and someone mentioned that they were the stock type. But the ones I pulled off my engine consisted of two pieces of stamped sheetmetal stuck on with a black varnish or lacquer type sealant. They looked vaguely like the Cometic gasket pictured in 1Slow01Z71's thread but I'm pretty sure they weren't. So what kind were these? Are the graphite coated ones I got as replacements OK for mild boost applications ( 10 psi or less)? The stock stamped steel ones didn't seem to seal very well as discoloration on the heads revealed coolant seepage. TIA for any info.

Your factory gaskets were MLS and you should replace with the same, IMO. Don't use the graphite ones.
