Default Shortblock assembly guide

Does anyone know where I can get a detailed guide that shows me how to completly build up a shortblock? I'm talking step by step with lots of pictures.

I have a 347 coming and wanna make sure I build it right.

You can check out the edition of the 383 build up in GM high tech performance issue about 2 months ago. It was a great right up. Very clear and spoken in plain english. Would def recommend for a LSX build up of any cubic inch.

I read that because I was rebuilding my engine. I found it to be very informative.

In all seriousness, 560SL, it really isn't rocket science. I just did my first rebuild and it came out great. You might want to ask a few questions of the vendors from whom you bought the parts and buy the Helm's manual, but beyond that there isn't much to know. You can read the Helm's manual for torque specs and basic assembly.

I think the only thing I asked that didn't have to do with deviating from the steps in the Helm's manual (such as not using the rear main seal and rear cover installation tools) was what to gap the rings at, and Mahle answered that one for me in just a few minutes.
