Default Question about power under the curve and low rpm torque

i have an auto, and i plan on running a Yank 3600-4200 stall (have not made up my mind on which one yet).

I also plan on doing a cam only with most likely a MS4 or a Trex paired with a 150 wet shot.

i hear alot about some cams not being good on the street cause they will have no down low power and they only come alive above 3500rpms blah blah blah.

does it really matter for us auto guys who are going to stall right to our powerband anyway? i mean, with the convertor i'll never have a grunt pull from 2000rpm like if i had a stick, so shouldnt i just focus on which cam makes the best power from my stall range up?

some clarity would be greatly appreciated

yep pair a stall and a cam accordingly.

your gas mileage with a huge stall and big cam is going to go to the *******...
