Thunder Racing T-Rex or Texas Speed MS4. Both are HUGE, both make big power and both require serious tuning and supporting mods to work well. Search both vendor's sites and you get lots more info.

Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft - T-ReX v.2 - 242/248 - .608/.612 - 110 lsa 3500-6700 RPM Power Band. Violent mid-range & high RPM power. Requires computer tuning, 4000+ converter on autos, 4.30's or greater depending on transmission. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended. Due to the extreme nature of this camshaft, piston to valve clearance must be verified when using modified cylinder heads.

Wait so he wants to stuff in the largest cam you can and want to daily it?

No disrespect but thats a pretty silly plan, really when getting ready to mod a car you have to be 100% honest what am I doing with this car what do I want it to be really?

Idle also semi depends on the LSA and that can be changed a 224/224 car *fairly small cam* with a 110 LSA will lope more then a 114 230/230 car. Other things to factor then just idle for picking your lsa though.

spend a ton of time researching then ask us if your mind isn't made up, asking blind you can't really get a good anwser as we don't know what you want and you can't tell us really.

You heard wrong. It was designed to work under the stock heads in a stock engine. The fastest cam only 346ci cars are running the T-Rex and cams with similar specs. Those make the most power. They are also the hardest to drive on the street (VERY lopey, low RPM surge, etc)

Honestly you need to pick. Do you want a good cam that makes good numbers that you can drive every day, or do you want a max effort cam that is tough to tune and drive but makes the most HP and TQ? You can't have both.

The 224 would be a good choice. I have a 228/230 and I love it, I do however have heads and more compression. My previous car, which was a cam only a4 ran a 225/225. It was very tame but gave me a good bump in power. For a DD I wouldnt go over a cam in the low 230s on the intake, and mid 230s on the exhaust. My .02......

My custom cam in my daily driver is larger than a trex and a ms4. It took my car to an 11.55 with a 1.66 60'.....I believe it is the biggest cam you can use on a stock engine with stock heads without flycutting. Pm me if you would like more information
